DEAR CHRISTINE: Desperately in need of help

Dear Christine,
I am writing this letter with the hope that it finds you in the best of health.
I must admit that I am not doing well at all. I am very worried and do not know what to do or who to turn to for help at this time in my life.
Christine, I am a sick woman – I have diabetes and my feet are not good. If I could find a way out, I won’t be writing to you, but I am only looking for a little assistance. I’m asking for some foodstuff and some help to pay my bills – water and electricity.
Almost every day I have a headache and I am not eating well at all. I have children, but things are not good with them either. If you were to come and see me, I would tell you my story because it is a really long one.  Please help me if you can.
– STRESS?OUT
Dear Stress Out,
I am sorry to hear about your plight, and will get a counsellor to sit with you as soon as possible.
While I can provide some groceries – due primarily to the kindness of Barbadians – I do not have the funds to assist you with your utility bills. This could only be made possible if any member of the public sees your case in this column and offers to help.
What I can do is see which Government agencies are available to grant you further assistance.
