THE?NEW?multimillion-dollar Carlton Supermarket Complex at Black Rock, St Michael, is nearing completion.
Several passersby could only stop and marvel at the beauty of the sprawling, imposing 59 000 square-foot complex, now that the barricades surrounding it have been removed. The modern yellow and green building will house the supermarket, shops, warehouse and prep area.
Workmen were busy yesterday putting the finishing touches to both interior and exterior.
Managing director of the A-One Supermarket chain, Andrew Bynoe, said yesterday that the complex would be opened in time for Christmas, with the staff complement being increased from 300 to about 370.
Bynoe said the launch would feature the Proper Pork slogan for which the supermarket had become famous. (MB)
