RICHARD STOUTE IS on the hunt for the next Rihanna as, this year, the top performers in the Teen Talent Competition may be looking at a local record deal.
In a Press conference yesterday in the Broad Street Sports Bar, The City, Stoute said he was currently in discussions to secure such a deal.
“I’ve spoken to quite a few people [and have identified] a lady with a freshly opened studio which is looking for talent. What I am looking for is to produce another Rihanna,” he said.
Stoute, the founder and organizer of the Teen Talent Competition, said Barbados’ most important industry, tourism, could not survive without entertainers so it was more important than ever to mold young talent, adding that 99 per cent of Barbados’ entertainers had come through the competition. (CA)
