The drive to get children exercising and adopting healthy living practices was taken up a notch when the Winston Scott Polyclinic held its Children’s Health Fair yesterday.
The children had a fun time as they tried to outdo each other in the hula hoop, skipping and tug of war competitions, all the while exercising and getting their bodies moving.
Held under the theme Today’s Children, Tomorrow’s Future, the fair is part of the clinic’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The series of competitions and the line dancing, belly dancing and aerobics sessions were geared to promoting health and letting the children know they could exercise and still have fun.
Patrons were also treated to displays from the environmental health department, the polyclinic’s dental department, the public health nursing division, the Psychiatric Hospital, Road Safety Association, Royal Barbados Police Force, Fire Department and the Girl Guides’ Association.
