Old school

Move over youngsters, the old boys of Division 1 cricket are large, and in charge.
The names have been known for years, heard every Saturday afternoon on radios across Barbados for most of the 1980s and 1990s.
Now they’re back again.Winston Reid, Dayne Maynard, Sherwin Campbell, Floyd Reifer and Ahmed Proverbs.
No, it’s not a reunion, it’s present day.
Those players, all considered to be way past their prime, have been bringing out crowds in the Barbados Crciket Association’s 2011 season.
Yesterday, St Catherine’s Maynard and Proverbs both rolled back the clock. Maynard, who has been in good form, just missed out on a century, being stumped for 98 against Banks. Campbell also had a great day, taking four wickets, the biggest being Maynard’s.
Here, Proverbs is all style and flair, executing a picturesque cover drive against Banks at the Brewery yesterday.
