BUSINESSMAN and social commentator Brian Barnes (at right) was one of those calling for radical decisions regarding the fate of CLICO International Life Insurance (CIL) yesterday.
On the final day of meetings between CIL policyholders and the judicial manager to look at options for the company, Barnes echoed the call for forced liquidation of the firm, adding he didn’t believe he could trust Government to supervise the new company being proposed by judicial manager Deloitte Consulting Inc.
Other policyholders who gathered at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre disagreed with the liquidation option, and lay the blame for CIL’s woes at Government’s feet. (RJ)
