Check your breasts

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Barbados Cancer Society is doing its part to boost visibility of its Breast Screening Programme at Cave Shepherd Broad Street.
Along with receiving donations, Sonya Alleyne, Treasurer of the Breast Screening Programme helped to pin patrons with the trademark pink ribbons and encouraged women to get annual mammograms and screenings to help in the fight against breast cancer.
Breast cancer remains the leading cause of death from cancer amongst Barbadian women.  The Breast Screening Programme is committed to reducing the mortality from this disease by early detection through mammograms and ultrasounds. (SH-O)
