I am 18 years of age and have been going out with a young man who lives overseas. He spends his holidays on the island with his relatives.
I liked him instantly and feel that in time I could get to love him.
He always says he loves me and wants for us to go further.
There is, however, one thing that bothers me: I am afraid I could get pregnant. I’ve never done anything like this before and cannot be sure about not getting myself in trouble.
Please give me some advice. I feel sooner or later things will go further in our relationship.

I sense your anxiety and uncertainty. However, I believe that you should think seriously about the situation.
Your feeling that it is likely to happen sooner or later makes me think that you are dangerously close to getting involved. It would be far better to have a mind of your own in such a situation.
Truly, it does not have to happen sooner or later. It is very risky and, I might add, foolish to drift into something so important just because you cannot say a firm “no”.
You are yet very young and do not need to rush your life and get involved with someone you like, but believe you can find love somewhere down the road.
This young man will be returning home after these holidays, so why not just enjoy your friendship minus the sex?
Save yourself for that special someone you’d like to marry someday.
