Police are investigating an incident at a secondary school in St Michael in which a student reportedly took a knife to classes.
The principal of the school confirmed to the DAILY NATION yesterday that an incident involving one of his students did occur last Thursday, and that police were called to the compound to deal with the issue.
“The matter is being investigated by the police but I’m not willing to offer any more information about if a weapon or weapons were discovered. I have serious doubts as to what good a story like this would do,” the principal added.
And the student may still be attending classes.
“I’m not going to comment on if the student is still in school. All I can say is the matter is under investigation by the police,” the principal stated.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said yesterday that upon receiving information that a student was in possession of a weapon, officers visited the school.
