CCJ rules for Britons

A British couple now have the right to buy a million-dollar West Coast property which the owner denied them after they defaulted on rental payments.
On Thursday, the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) ended their near five-year legal battle by overturning the rulings of both the Barbados High Court and Court of Appeal on the matter.
The property in question is The Moorings, at Fitts Village, St James, which William and Sheila Stone, were operating by lease since 1997.
The Trinidad-based CCJ granted the Stones’ almost-bankrupt company, Sea Haven Inc., specific performance of an agreement for sale of the property which is owned by American John Dyrud. (RJ)
