QEH theatres back in action

Six malfunctioning operating theatres at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) will be back in full swing by tomorrow following laboratory tests and cleaning to ensure they are safe for use.
And QEH management is looking to set up a maintenance system to avoid similar developments in the future.
This is coming from Dr Dexter James, chief executive officer, following the closure of four of the eight main operating theatres because of central airconditioning problems.
He also said management had to cancel elective surgery scheduled for the two-week period until the theatres were safe.
