Warrens woe

Motorists seem to be avoiding the new circular road system and ongoing construction work in Warrens – to such an extent, that it is hurting some of the major retail businesses there.  
KFC, Super Centre and the Shell Select store all say they have suffered a downturn in business as a result of the work.
“The construction currently being undertaken in the Warrens area has significantly hampered our business. Both the lunch and dinner periods have been affected, with the greatest impact being seen during the lunch period,” said Lisa Davis, KFC marketing executive.
She reported that “overall we have seen as much as a 15 per cent fall-off in business”.
Karen Alleyne, Super Centre marketing manager, said the supermarket had registered a “significant reduction in customer traffic” with the recent  traffic diversion.
And Drexel Layne, manager of Shell Select Warrens, spoke too yesterday of a drop-off in business.
