United States Attorney General Eric Holder will be in Barbados on Wednesday to meet with local officials to discuss the fight against transnational crime.
Holder will also be travelling to the Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago this week.
In Barbados, Holder will hold bilateral meetings with Stuart and Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite. He will also meet with the Attorneys General from Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean in a discussion on continued cooperation in fighting transnational crime, including through the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative.
A release today from the US Embassy noted that in the Dominican Republic, Holder will be participating in a ministerial conference and will give a speech on the importance of law enforcement cooperation.  He will also participate in a roundtable discussion with Dominican civil society representatives on the role of civil society organizations in advocating improving governance, promoting transparency and strengthening overall government accountability.
In Trinidad and Tobago he will participate in the Organization of American States’ Third Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Public Security in the Americas (MISPA III) as well as bilateral and high-level meetings with his counterparts. (PR)
