Local club Pro-Shottas Soccer School has come in for praise from the visiting AC Milan youth coaches for the organization of the recently held AC Milan Junior youth camp at Kensington Oval.
The camp, the first-ever held in the Eastern Caribbean provided top class coaching for over 100 children during the October break for school children.
Head coach of Pro-Shottas Greg Castagne said while he had been happy with the quality control manager’s report which suggested Barbados as a home for an AC Milan Academy programme, he was keen to have it put in writing by the coaches, who are based in Italy.
Both head coach Fabrizio Rivero and his assistant Giusseppe Vuono indicated that they would be happy to return to Barbados to stage another camp.
“Thanks to your organization, Milan JC in Barbados was one of the most beautiful and one that I will remember with pleasure. I hope to see you again soon and that there is an opportunity to work together again,” Rivero said.
Vuono said he was especially pleased by the very professional way in which the camp was organized.
“I was very happy with how you played the MJC (Milan Junior camp). I found you and your staff to be very professional,” Vuono said noting the accommodation was very comfortable.
“The stadium where the camp took place is perfect. I found the coaches are very prepared and I liked them,” he said.
Three players, Barbadians Antone Greaves and Torian Went and Trinidadian Andrew Abraham were selected to attend the International Milan Junior camp next year in Milan.
