Football semis rev up

One hundred thousand dollars is a lot of money.
The four teams left in the inaugural LIME/Pelican Football Challenge know it. They can taste it.
And that’s why the National Stadium is a must see for football fans tomorrow, when the semi-finals of the island’s richest football tournament ever, will be played before what is expected to be at least 5 000 fans.
In tomorrow’s matches, 360 Connection face Red Tridents in the first match, followed by what is set to be a bumper clash between Fire House and Bajan Pride Ballers.
And earlier today, organisers of the tournament hit the streets with a special motorcade, to drum up support for a tournament that is already the talk of the town.
Chairperson of the tournament’s organizing committee, Mia Mottley, as well as organizer Randy Harris led the way, as the motorcade hit the communities represented by each of the four teams.
The final will be played at Kensington Oval, on Independence Day, November 30, when one team will walk away $100 000 richer. (BA)
