Senator Harry Husbands presented several books to the Gordon Greenidge School on behalf of the St James North branch of the Democratic Labour Party yesterday.
Husbands, Parliamentary Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, also gave the students an inspirational talk on the value of reading.
“As part of the 45th anniversary celebration of Independence [the constituency branch] thought it would be focused on this school, as well as St Alban’s, and give them books,” he said.
Principal Angela Smith, who thanked Husbands for the donation, said the books would be instrumental in completing the stock of the school library.
