He didn’t call Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler the Grinch that stole his Christmas joy, but builder Al Barrack is not pleased that he will not be getting the more than $70 million Government owes him this Yuletide season.
In a measured response yesterday to that revelation on Saturday from Sinckler, Barrack said: “It is noted, but it is no comfort to me and my creditors. We made arrangements and now those will have to be changed.”
Sinckler said that while Government had “moved a lot closer” to resolving the matter in which Barrack’s company is owed for construction of the Warrens Office Complex, it was taking longer than anticipated to wrap it up.
“But I think if not within another week or two, certainly very early in the New Year, I would be able to make an announcement to the public of Barbados on the settlement,” said Sinckler.
