FOR A BOWLER who reaped historic success bowling full, Ajani Ince’s heroics still came up woefully short.
Charles F. Broome’s captain courageous produced the greatest ever figures in a primary school cricket final, and it still wasn’t enough to stop Bayley’s from unwrapping a gift of revenge via yesterday’s 51-run victory in the Guardian General Herman Griffith championship game at the Empire ground.
It was the stunning result of a contest that seemingly swung in favour of the Government Hill side when Ince grabbed the first hat-trick in the final’s 31-year history en route to an eight-wicket performance that doomed Bayley’s to a total of 95.
But Bank Hall is a long way for a St Philip school to travel to lose two finals in three years – especially to the same opponents. (JM)
