STAFF AT THE Financial Services Commission bade farewell to former chairman Sir Neville Nicholls yesterday.
Sir Neville, who also served as chairman of the Securities Commission, and his wife were feted by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler and staff of the FSC yesterday at Cin Cin By The Sea in Prospect, St James.
Sinckler described Sir Neville as soft spoken, firm and intelligent but not arrogant. The minister said Barbados was fortunate to have people like Sir Neville in public service.
He said he was confident that Sir Neville’s “ever-willing” ear would still be available to the Government and the Ministry of Finance.
Sir Neville expressed his gratitude to his former colleagues for the gesture.
He noted that his work was never boring, was always challenging and he would not have missed it for anything in the world. (YB)
