CORPORATE BARBADOS and community organizations continue to show their support for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
This time, the Lions Club of St Michael has enlisted the aid of several businesses to provide the hospital with a number of items valued at $10 000 in total.
Head of the Accident & Emergency Department, Dr Chaynie Williams, said the items formed a part of their “wish list”, which QEH personnel made known to the Lions Club.
President of the club, Pearl Bradshaw, said this was something she always wanted to do so the club was only too happy to help and planned to continue helping the hospital.
The items donated included medical storage containers, two urine analysis machines, two 32-inch flat screen televisions and a public address system. The companies that participated were City of Bridgetown Cooperative Credit Union (COB), Armstrong Agencies, Dacosta Mannings, Linda’s Disco. members of the public also contributed.
COB member relations executive Winston Alleyne said the effort was a part of the credit union’s corporate social responsibility.
“With more than 40 000 members, we know some of us will end up here, so we have to do our part, rather than rely on Government, to have a well equipped hospital,” he said. (CA)
