Combermere rule things

When it comes to school teams and cricket titles, the word Combermere stands out like no other.
There simply is no other squad to compare.
The Waterford boys added yet another championship trophy to their already overflowing cricket trophy case yesterday, repeating as the BNB Right Start Under-13 schools champions, with a decisive victory over arch-rivals Alexandra.
The party had been delayed after Wednesday’s play had been rained out, and yesterday was overcast for most of the day as rain threatened again, but Combermere held their nerve to complete a comfortable 56-run victory.
Here, Combermere’s Runeko Layne delivering another troublesome spinning ball against Alexandra. Layne took two for 22, as the Waterford team reduced Alexandra to just 89 in their turn at the crease.
