No-show at party

CONSTITUENTS in a certain area are wondering how their representative could have a Christmas party for them and not turn up.
According to one of them, about 80 children and their parents turned up for the do, but the host did not put in an appearance during the several hours they were present.
A constituent is wondering if this non-appearance is a sign of future things to come, as the word on the ground is that the individual is planning to pack it in.

Friends and politics
THE PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP between two good friends is set to become closer politically if word on the ground is to be believed.
From what Cou Cou has been told, an individual is set to be elevated to dizzying heights, replacing someone much younger than himself.
Since news of this started getting around, the idea of placing this new man in this top job has been favourably looked at. Those in the know are saying that he has good qualifications for the job and is well respected in his field.
The only concerns people are seeing is the known closeness between the two men, and the political fallout that could occur.
Insiders Cou Cou quizzed on the matter had a different take on the talk. They said that the top boss is unlikely to do much more than make cosmetic changes, if he does anything at all.
They suggest that whether he likes it or not, his hands are tied as those who are around him now are the most popular among the people – so you can’t touch them.
Within the next few days we’ll soon see who is right!

Changing fortunes
IT SEEMS a certain person took a six for a nine and now has to fall in line or face the prospect of being left out in the cold when fortunes change.
The hive of activity which this person generated some time ago is now on the wane, insiders say, and so the individual can no longer count on a genuinely large base to back them in a crunch.
From what we were told, this individual’s supporters have been steadily thinning out as their cause seems to have been overtaken by current events.
A strong supporter was heard saying that with the person’s friends now seemingly fighting for their political life, the individual had better start toeing the line or face being sidelined.
They argue that if an implosion occurs on the other side and landslide success comes, this person would not be needed as much. So they argued this individual had better think about mending fences.

A time to laugh
A MAN known for his loud, infectious laugh was left in stitches when he received the answer to a question.
The retiree, who is active in public business, was querying why he was not invited to a big do held on Monday night.
On hearing the question, the host of the event reportedly sent a note to him saying that the next time such an event is held he would be invited as it will be at Ilaro Court.
No wonder, says our source, that this Dem could not help laughing.
