The?Caribbean Twenty20 Championship bowls off in Antigua next week but on Monday, during the Malcolm Marshall Twenty20 Festival, Dwayne Smith gave local cricket fans just a taste of things to come.
Playing at the Desmond Haynes Oval in Black Rock, Smith only made a cameo 28 in a losing cause for the star-studded G Spot Invitational XI?against Empire, but it included some typically meaty shots.
Smith and his Barbados teammates will get another chance for more pre-tournament match practice in a quadrangular series against Trinidad and Tobago, the Combined Campuses and Colleges and a C.O. Williams Invitational XI at the 3Ws Oval tonight, tomorrow and Friday.
