BARBADIANS ARE PROUD of their culture and visitors to the island must respect that.
That was Prime Minister Freundel Stuart’s message to more than 300 repeat visitors attending a reception at his official residence Ilaro Court last Wednesday night.
In an informal address which drew applause from the visitors, the Prime Minister said Barbadians “are different and are proud to be different”.
“We do not wish that we were anybody else, we can be proud of who we are,” Stuart said.
He added that Barbados was proud to display representative symbols of its historical past, all of which were evidence of how the nation had evolved.
