A TEENAGE MOTHER was yesterday remanded to prison for allegedly kicking a police officer in his testicles.
Rasheda Akeela Agard, 19, of Goddard’s Road, St Stephen’s Hill, Black Rock, St Michael, was denied bail when she appeared before Magistrate Graveney Bannister in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court, the same day of the alleged offence.
She had pleaded not guilty to assaulting and resisting Constable Lenroy Scott in the execution of his duties and causing a disturbance along Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael.
Prosecutor Sergeant Peter Barrow did not object to bail, but the magistrate asked Agard to say why she should not be remanded to HMP Dodds.
The teenager, who did not have a lawyer, replied that she had a one-year-old daughter from whom she did not want to be away. (DP)
