IN THE last decade no horse has captured the public’s imagination nor raised the horse racing public’s consciousness like Apostle.
His intelligence, his durability and willingness to take on all comers combined with his natural speed are all characteristics which have made him an outstanding horse.
On Saturday, he will be making his fifth and maybe last attempt to win the Caribbean’s most prestigious horse race – the 31st running of the Sandy Lane Gold Cup – at the historic Garrison Savannah.
This outstanding horse, the son of Bandsman out of Peace Token, continues to draw many people to the Garrison. His connections of owners Elias Haloute, Sir Charles Williams and trainer Andrew Nunes are all seeking that elusive win; a triumph that will certainly be a fitting way to close out the illustrious chapter of Apostle.
