Rocking time at Hastings

It was a family affair as the friends of the Hastings Rocks Committee presented An Afternoon Concert featuring the Royal Barbados Police Force Band last Saturday.
Hundreds of Barbadians and visitors alike turned up with folding chairs, cushions and picnic baskets, and took a seat in the scenic Hastings Rock Promenade, Christ Church, to enjoy the offerings of the band.
With the pristine blue water of the Atlantic Ocean providing the backdrop, the band presented an eclectic mix of classical, religious, pop and soca selections.
Young and old danced, clapped and waved their hands in appreciation of songs like Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Something’s Happening by Red Plastic Bag.
While some pranced in the promenade, others simply sat on the boardwalk and watched the ocean as lovely strains of Colonel Bogey March filled the air.
The RBPF Band also paid tribute to the late Whitney Houston, with a stirring rendition of One Moment In Time, much to the delight of those gathered.
