MUM’S THE WORD.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart said yesterday he was not in a position to comment publicly on the findings of the Deloitte Canada-led forensic audit into CLICO International Life (CIL).
The 39-page document, dated December 5, 2011, has been in circulation now for several weeks, with the SUNDAY SUN devoting its last two editions to detailed coverage of its findings.
This has triggered responses from the prime ministers of Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines [all of whom admitted at the time that they were yet to receive their copies of the report] – as well as several local and regional commentators, the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) and the Barbados Investors & Policyholders Alliance.
But when asked to comment on the much publicized report, Stuart responded that he was yet to receive a personal copy of the document.
