BARBADOS’ most prolific batsman in regional first-class competitions has paid the price for modest returns this season.
Ryan Hinds, who has scored more than 5,000 first-class runs in senior Barbados colours, has been dropped for the sixth round WICB regional four-day match against Leeward Islands, starting Friday at Kensington Oval.
The 31-year-old Hinds has managed only 123 runs at an average of 17.57 in four matches this season.
Veteran fast bowler Pedro Collins is also out of the team with a back strain.
There is a recall for Dwayne Smith, who last played for Barbados in the longer version of the game in 2010, while Kevin Stoute is also included in the four-day squad for the first time this season.
SQUAD: Shamarh Brooks (captain), Sulieman Benn, Carlos Brathwaite, Kraigg Brathwaite, Jonathan Carter, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Kyle Hope, Christopher Jordan, Omar Phillips, Dwayne Smith, Kevin Stoute. Jomel Warrican.
