The All Saints Anglican Church in St Peter held its annual harvest service yesterday morning with a congregation running over.
Members of the congregation brought gifts of fruits, vegetables and other goodies in a spirit of thanks and gratitude to God, and the various groups within the church rendered musical selections in praise.
Assistant rector of St Lucy Parish Church, Rev. David Yarde, delivered the sermon.
He reminded the congregation that “it is good to give thanks unto the Lord for his goodness and blessings and to bring gifts of thanksgiving during this harvest time in order to assist those who are in need”.
After the harvest the gifts were sold to those gathered, the proceeds from which will go to assist the shut-ins of the parish.
Also present were members of the Barbados Landship, who gave a splendid performance in the churchyard after the service, much to the delight of the crowd.
The Rose Hill Tuk Band provided the music for the Landship, performing all spiritual songs in the observance of the Lenten season.
