‘Awesome’ task for Teacher

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart says that given the importance of teachers and teacher administrators to national development, their professional growth should also be a concern to the decision-makers in the country.
Addressing the Erdiston Teachers’ College graduation ceremony at Frank Collymore Hall Saturday night, he said his concern went beyond the simple transmission of information in the classroom.
According to Stuart, “every act of yours, every single aspect of your dress, your likes, your dislikes, your body language, your language, your beliefs and values” had an enduring impact on your students.
“Children spend most of their alert, receptive and productive hours at school and therefore under the influence of teacher,” Stuart pointed out.
