With this year’s schools’ athletics championships climaxing today, parents and students are crying foul over the food prices charged by vendors at the National Stadium.
In fact, just as they did yesterday on the first day of the Powerade Barbados Secondary Schools Athletic Championships (BSSAC), many are expected to carry their own prepacked lunches.
They say in some cases they have been forced to pay 50 per cent more than normal.
“You believe that I went to buy a Powerade that usually sells for $3 and the vendor tell me that one costs $4.50?” one irate student from the Lester Vaughn School exclaimed, when he was asked about prices.
