Students of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus traded their notepads, pens and school garb for an evening of jamming in the streets.
The students were dressed in colourful costumes of all cuts and designs, some of which included T-shirts, leggings and fish neck stockings just to name a few.
Spring Garden was blocked for a few hours.
The usual busy highway belonged to the revellers who participated in this year’s UWI Carnival or KadUWIval as it was rebranded to this year.
The music started at 2:30 p.m and so did the action in the 12 bands.
Charged-up masqueraders wasted no time in “mashing up” the road under the warm afternoon sun. (AH)
