Sick-out at BNB branches

Long lines were the order of the day, as a sick-out by staff of the Barbados National Bank (BNB), saw the bank closing its Wildey and Limegrove branches. “. . . Every branch and pretty much every department have been affected by this widespread absenteeism today,” BNB’s marketing and corporate communications manager Deborah Stoute told the DAILY NATION.
She noted, however, that despite this, the bank had been dealing adequately with the needs of its customers. “The lines today would have been long, even if we’d been fully staffed. Today is pensions and Government payday,” Stoute said. Stoute noted plans had been putin place to deal with the situation and the bank’s customers had been urged to make full use of its ATMand Internet facilities.
