Holders’ high note

GALA NIGHT LAST WEEKEND at the 2012 Virgin Atlantic Holder’s Season was a grand affair on and off stage.
The regulars turned out in their numbers, and even Prime Minister Freundel Stuart was there as well as a few members of his Cabinet, all having an evening out to let their hair down.
On stage was the Italian known as the living paper cartoon, Ennio Marchetto and the Cuban band Habana Sax, featuring David Alvarez.
Even when the skies opened, the large crowd stood their ground soaking in the raindrops along with the feast of entertainment. During the one and a half hour intermission, picnic baskets and wine coolers appeared on the grounds for what has become a popular gastronomic break on Gala Night, while upstairs on the expansive patio of Holder’s House, and around the swimming pool other patrons dined in style on delectable fare either prepared on site by well known chefs, or speciality dishes brought in from the kitchens of some leading restaurants.
There was a smile on the face of the indefatigable Wendy Kidd, the woman behind the Holder’s Season as she sat sharing a cocktail and a chat with Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy.
