Teachers at Alexandra School are off the job for the second consecutive day today.
As was the case at the start of last term, teachers are currently assembled at the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union headquarters in Belleville, St Michael to discuss strategy.
While still not disclosing the nature of the close to four and a half-hour talks with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart at Government Headquarters last night, union president Mary Redman said they were planning “while we wait for certain processes to be fulfilled”.
She has given no indication about how long they will be holding meetings or what their next step is likely to be.
Teachers remained off the job for three weeks at the start of last term protesting protracted differences between them and principal Jeff Broomes, whose separation they continue to press for.
