When will the violence end?

Through all the changing scenes of life In trouble and in joy The praises of my God shall still My heart and tongue employ. – Hymn 290, verse 1 (Hymns Ancient & Modern)
It would seem that the world has gone mad, because there is so much violence these days in all forms and it seems that the world is no longer a safe place to live in any longer.
These days everybody must have his or her pound of flesh. But when our Lord Jesus suffered on the cross at Calvary, he did not resort to violence but rather he showed mercy and forgiveness with the words “Father forgive them because they know not what they do.”?(Luke 23:34)
Last weekend, violence once more reared its ugly head when during a basketball match at the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers?Sports Complex players cuffed and drop-kicked one another.
It is the third such ugly incident to mar basketball in 11 months.
When will this violence end? Please come and let us “reason” together.
