Mr Reliable, Mr Fix It, Mr Charity, Mr Affable, Mr Caring.
Those five attributes were used to describe Terrance Anderson Clarke, whose life was cut short on Maundy Thursday in a tragic on-the-job accident at Preconco Limited, during a funeral service at St Thomas Parish Church yesterday morning.
The 41-year-old, who was also known as Terry and Pan Man, was eulogized by his brother Ikins Clarke.
Ikins said his brother’s first love was cricket, and they spent many days practising in their grandparents’ backyard. Terry would go on to play for the St Lucy Secondary School, Combined Schools, Carlton and then, Rangers.
Pan Man by name and nature, Terry started playing at St Lucy Secondary and was a member of Casablanca until his passing.
According to Ikin, Terry was scheduled to play for a wedding on the evening of the fateful April 5.
Hundreds filled the church and spilled into the churchyard to pay their last respects to the man who was a second father and brother to many.
A guard of honour with cricket bats lined the way from the church to the hearse, after which Terry played his final innings en route to St James cemetery, where his body was interred. (YB)
