The close to 30 aggrieved teachers at Alexandra School are back on the job and things are reportedly “back to normal”.
After being off the job for four days, two of which were a part of industrial action, the St Peter school was back to almost full teaching strength after teachers represented by the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union heeded the instruction to return to work yesterday. And according to Chief Education Officer Laurie King, everything is settled at the school.
King spent part of the morning session at the school, and was there to see first-hand how the different players involved in the situation related to each other.
The teachers’ return could not come soon enough for some of the parents who dropped off their charges to begin the second week of the term. (YB/TB)
