Lakers survive Warriors scare

THE RULINGS stemming from the Warriors-Cougars brawl really are favouring one club.
The Lumber Company Lakers.
Basketball’s Premier League leaders are still unbeaten, but only barely, having survived a menacing fourth-quarter rally before holding on for a tough 63-58 victory over the suspension-ravaged First Works Warriors at the Wildey on Thursday.
If there was a winner coming out of the massive seven-player suspension it sure has been the defending champs, who had the luxury of playing both sides involved in the brawl directly after the disciplinary decisions.
And the upshot was Lakers’ fifth win in as many games, following Sunday’s 32-point dismantling of an already short-handed Cougars.
