She will always be remembered as the girl with the smile.
The memory of that smile and her vivacious personality attracted and bonded the hundreds of people who gathered yesterday close to the house where ill-fated Nicole Harrison-Watson lived with her daughter Samantha in Ferniehurst, Black Rock, St Michael.
Relatives, friends, colleagues, neighbours and past students of the Coleridge & Parry School were just outside the scene of last Saturday’s murder to pay tribute, in a candlelight vigil, to the 37-year-old whom many said had ”gone too soon”.
The tears that had threatened from the time people started to congregate flowed freely when Harrison-Watson’s mother Mercedes Gill led the gathering in lighting the candles and mourners sang along to Kirk Franklin’s Lean On Me.
