The Nation’s Associate Editor, Sherie Holder-Olutayo takes a look at what’s trending today in Barbados.
Today’s story that a truck crashed into a house in St. George brings to the fore the rising number of vehicular accidents in Barbados recently. Readers were quick to comment on this issue.
Mr. Psychotic: This is happening a bit too often these days.  So what is the procedure when things like this happen; do you call the police, do you call a lawyer, do you call the driver’s insurance company?  Suppose the driver has no insurance…suppose the driver flees the scene?  Does the houseowner’s insurance repair the house (assuming that the house is insured)?
Ryan Smith: Wouldn’t this be like the third vehicle which ran into a house so for this year in Bim? What’s this really about?
David Aplmac: Too many people drive while not paying attention to what they’re doing. It’s  kind of  like sitting in your house, chatting? If they were paying attention they wouldn’t be driving into houses!
