HUNDREDS WHO TURNED OUT for the first Cavalcade – Youth Invasion 1 – should not have been disappointed with the level and quality of the entertainment generally coming from the stage at Briar Hall, Christ Church, Saturday.
The National Cultural Foundation (NCF), producers of the show, can take credit for running a tight ship and selecting a cross section of performers who catered to varying tastes. There was drama, dance, masquerading, modelling, singing, drumming and deejaying.
The event also had a spiritual element – with an opening prayer – for those who felt a need for divine intervention.
Emcee Darrio Prescod carried the show smoothly, connecting well with his audience.
It was a positive sign, seeing young Barbadians, both male and female, converging on a space with one aim in mind: to enjoy themselves.
