Motorists who have concerns about the quality or quantity of fuel that goes into their vehicles should draw them to the attention of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
Caroline Ingram, trading standards officer in the department, said feedback from the public was critical to ensuring that standards were achieved and maintained.
Over the past three years, Barbadians have been experiencing fluctuations in petrol prices based on the international price of crude oil with the most recent increase occurring last week. Many have expressed reservations about getting full value for their money at the pumps.
“There was a stoppage in calibration-verification exercises . . . but due to certain systems that were implemented in the beginning, I can say that there is still [a] high level of assurance [of correct dispensing of petrol],” Ingram told the SUNDAY?SUN in an interview.
