Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has announced that Justice Elliott Belgrave will be conferred Knight of St Andrew and elevated to the position of Governor General of Barbados.
Stuart said the installation will take place in the Senate Chamber on June  1.
The Prime Minister also noted that he would be appointing someone to act as Governor General in Belgrave’s place in the meantime so that he can prepare for his appointment.
The announcement was made this afternoon in the House of Assembly.
