On Tuesday afternoon, in the serene setting of Zen Restaurant at The Crane Resort in St Philip, tent manager Jerry Roberts and his sponsors launched the Stray Cats Calypso Tent for 2012.
Roberts, who also doubles as the tent’s one-man band, was extremely grateful for the support given to him by sponsors The Crane Resort, Cutters of Barbados, SOLO, Maycare Pharmacy, Stoute’s Car Rentals, Dale’s Hatchery, Atlantic Computers, Pollards Mill and Casa Grande Hotel.
The tent’s dates for performances are June 22 and 29, and July 3 and 6, all of which will be held at Casa Grande.
Stray Cats will play host to young up-and-coming calypsonians mainly from St Philip, with back up singers coming from Princess Margaret Secondary School and The Crane Resort. Artistes slated to perform are Cocoa, Honesty, Lady C, Babyface, Rude Boy, Jerry Roberts (also known as De Big Boar Cat), Annie Anna, Singer Man, Hallaback and Concrete. (SM)
