Barbados ‘the choice’ for Masters football

Although a similar tournament offering more prize money will be coming on stream later in the year, Adrian Donovan, organizer of the Barbados International Masters Football Festival, believes it will continue to be the first choice for players.
The Tobago International Masters Festival, modelled exactly on the one held here last Whitsun weekend, will be staged from October 5 to 7 with more than BDS$10 000 in cash and prizes for 16 teams.
“Once again, one of the regional counterparts is trying to get in on our show,” Donovan told NATIONSPORT.
“Barbados has become the destination for masters’ football. For the last few years, a number of our neighbours have tried as hard as they could to steal our thunder by offering a similar package, but they have failed miserably.”
