Lessons on fruit and veggies

SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN in Barbados now have an additional method by which to learn more about the country’s indigenous fruits and vegetables.
With assistance from CIBC FirstCaribbean, two new posters designed for use in the classroom have been disseminated to the 71 public primary schools.
Yesterday, duringa launch of the posters and a competition at Mahogany Ridge, Plum Tree Road, St James, principals of these schools were provided with copies of the posters, which were produced by Trinidadian researcher/writer Nasser Khan, with the assistance of research officers from the Barbados Ministry of Agriculture, Edme Henry, and Steve Skeete to promote awareness among schoolchildren.
Chairman of CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank Foundation, Michael Mansor, said that one of the mandates of the foundation was to contribute to the education of the region’s youth.
