Be careful who you have children with

Dear Christine,
I AM a frequent reader of your column and have responded to many articles!
Some make me scream in anger and others make me laugh. I do believe my neighbours hear me venting.
Actually, I don’t know what my responses do, because it seems as though no one is digesting anything that’s being said. I mean “my opinions” of course.
However, today I am targeting parents. I am expecting to get “cuss-out” over what I am about to say. I really don’t care. After all, the truth is a very bitter pill for some to swallow. If they think really hard they will agree with me.
I’d like to advise women and men to watch who they are making children with! Every woman or man who makes babies isn’t necessarily a good parent. Some women lie with men without thinking about the consequences.
There is more than a minute’s thrill to think about – there is the possibility of bringing a child into this world.
Where would it live? What about food, child support, education and some savings in the bank? These are things that stupid young women and men cut out of the equation.
When looking for a wife or husband, people should check out their potential partner’s parents. If his or her parents have children from many different partners, s/he is not the person for you.
It is very likely you will have some of the same problems plaguing our society right now.
Whether you believe me or not is up to you. I had my time of misery because I didn’t check the parents’ [profiles].
Forty-something years ago I wasn’t that smart about the behaviours and lifestyles of parents even though the evidence was in my face.
Therefore, you mothers, please set a good example for your children. They will do what you do. If you cheat, steal, disrespect your neighbours or do anything [with bad] character, they will do the same.
Many people think that because their children are young, they don’t understand. They do understand.
Go talk to a psychiatrist. He will tell you how your actions affect your children.
My mother was the talker in my family. I remember everything she said to me, although I must admit I did not do  everything.
Nonetheless, when it came time to apply her methods I was glad for her “good child-rearing” advice.
As young people we think we have all the answers. We call the older generation crazy.
Their craziness came from expecting the younger ones to do better than they did, not worse.
– MY OPINIONS
 Dear My Opinions,
Thanks for your “letter of opinion”. I am not sure everyone will agree with all you’ve said but you spoke from the heart, and that’s important. Let’s hope that many will heed your advice.
