A BOWLER SAVED West Indies “A” with the bat on the opening day and it was the turn of a batsman to help them with the ball at Kensington Oval yesterday.

Yesterday, with the main bowlers struggling to make inroads into India A’s powerful batting line-up, Jonathan Carter returned a first-ever five-wicket haul in first-class cricket to help restrict the visitors to a 25-run first innings lead on the second day of the first unofficial “Test”.
Defending a modest 252, West Indies “A” dismissed the visitors for 277 and reached three for no loss to enter the penultimate day still 22 runs behind.
